Här är mitt fluff:

Close your eyes. Feel the warmth under your eyelids. Feel it burning like the fever that is spreading through your limbs as you lay here waiting. Feel the beat of your heart in every part of your body as they grow weaker and weaker. Lean back. Rest now…

We know the tainted metal jackets ripped a hole in everything you thought you knew. We offer you another truth. Just lay still. Let it go…

As you feel your breath weakening with every heaving movement of your chest, your limbs no longer yours to command. Welcome death. Embrace it. In death your corpse offers others the possibility to live. You will give life. That is a comforting thought. Sleep now…

As your head rests heavily on the tainted soil that is your battlefield and at the same time our beautiful garden. Feel them move. Feel them fester. Our Fathers beautiful creatures are here to help you pass over. Come now…

Feel our Fathers glory slowly restored by your small sacrifice as your dying body feed hundreds of thousands, gaining strength, growing, hatching, crawling out of you. Watch now…

The rotting decay you thought to be the end…

Is just the beginning…

Man kunde ju tro...

446998.M41 “Blessed are we who shelter in our Emperor’s embrace”

To his revered Inquisitor Baracha of the Ordo Hereticus

From archive scholar 3rd class, level A-2, Sindran Sanastra

I am forever grateful and eternally in your debt that Your Grace deemed me worthy of composing a report on the peculiar situation and background concerning the Cestarian system. Should your grace find anything lacking or unsatisfying, nothing but my own ineptitude can be blamed. However, I could not relinquish the produce of such a worthy request without mentioning that the sheer amount of data and the time given to me made this task a challenging one. Some files and documents could benefit from a second study to shed more light on this affair.

From what I can understand, the first mentioning of Axara, this so called third planet of the Cestarian system, comes from the Sage Drostus of Akelana. It is interesting that we here already find a connection between Axara and Inquistor Eleonora von Erberg. It is hard to give your grace an exact date since, due to some unexplainable reason, Drostus seems to use what is referred to as the Onderian calender. But given other events he refers to, given a modifier of a year or two, it all appears to have begun about 14 years ago. Somehow, Inquisitor Eleonora had been given permission to perform an archaeological excavation on Holy Terra itself, searching for a temple belonging to a cult that pre-dated our beloved empire by tens of thousands of years. Apparently they found what they were looking for close to what until then had been the mythical city of A’lor. How such an undertaking could even been granted in the first place is beyond the understanding of such a simple servant as myself, but surely the Ministorum followed the divine guidance or our saviour. How it was to be lead by a lady who, if the archives of the Ecclesiarchy are to be trusted, was executed for heresy three years earlier, only to be ordained High Inquisitor during the following synod, is another question all together.

What few records have survived tells of some sort of catastrophic ending. Most of the academic staff, together with work teams and the attached military unit, was killed either by accidents, natural phenomena or ancient traps. The facts about the expedition are gathered in appendix A, together with the vox recording a reconnaissance craft picked up. Analysis tells that there is a 63,3% probability of it belonging to lady Eleonora herself. If it is impossible to determine how many lost their lives, it is easier to establish the names of some that didn’t. Junior Inquisitor Jenfer, chief archaeologist Sundstrom, sergeant Vaqez and Dr Hoeffner and nurse Valtke of the medical unit. These five persons, all of the expeditions female members by the way, are logged as passengers together with lady Eleonora aboard the “Formidabla” as it arrives at Hark’s moon and the Convent of the Order of Holy Chastity four months later.

I have been completely unable to find any evidence of any previous contact between Inquisitor Eleonor and the The Order of Chastity in general of Palatine Brigitte in particular. Nor does sage Drostus give any explanation or reason as to why such a meating would take place, but it did. Apart from a long and tedious passage about the origins of the order, Drostus mentions two things. First, that an object in the possession of lady Eleonora is given to Brigitte. The word he uses is “O’andeles”, which can be translated from Onderian into “tome”, “lore” or “book”. Second, that Birgitte is granted the rights to leave her convent and found a mission of her own. And henceforth she is referred to as Canoness Brigitte. The planet she chooses to begin her work on is, according to Drostus, called ”Axara”. Thus ends the relevant documentation from the chronicles of Akelana.

The next piece of the puzzle comes from the Ecclesiarchy itself. In 112992.M41 a request is entered in the Sacred scriptures of Missions of Mercy. From what I have discovered it was brought together with other documents and reports from the Cestarian system with the imperial representatives aboard the tithe convoy of that year. What strikes me as slightly peculiar is the fact that the request concerns a planet that in none of the other reports is mentioned and in no way appears to exist according to the Administrium. To summarise the contents of the letter, it asks the Ecclesiarchy for permission to expand the size of the convent and begin a more active role in persuading the ruling houses of Axara, the rest of the letter speaks of the planet in such a casual way that one is lead to believe that there is nothing out of the ordinary about this request. With this follows a shorter description of the planet itself, which in fact is one of only three existing accounts, that I have included in appendix B. What can be said however is that it is describes a planet totally unlike Garpina and Feoke Primus, the other two planets in the system. The latter two are D-class planets, D-4 and D-6 to be precise, and have a somewhat low level of technological and cultural society. Garpina's foremost tithe product is Manara fruits and Feoke Primus has a modest mining facility (although it should be mentioned that according to the taxation records, they have both always managed to reach their quotas over the last decades, a feat one wish was more common in this day and age). Axara is, or at least we are led to believe, a planet of enormous size with a huge population. The actual numbers are to be found in the appendix, I will not give them here since they are undoubtedly exaggerations. It has a vast and efficient administrative system with an elected ruler and the level of science and technology that rivals Mars at the very least, again taken at face value. Had the planet in question been described as something similar to its neighbours one could believe that such a place could have been missed, due to its isolated location but this borders on the ludicrous.

The request, written by Canoness Brigitte, comes together with the personal recommendation of no other than High Inquisitor Eleonora von Erberg. Something that strengthen its validation and the during the synod of 248992.M41 it receives a vote of approval. I must apologize for sounding both repetitive and perhaps slightly blasphemous but did no member of the Ministorum wonder how they would return the answer to a place that did not exist? One cannot continue to wonder how that approval in the end made its way back, but somehow it must have succeeded because in 87994.M41 another request arrives at the Ecclesiarchy. Again, from Canoness Brigitte, and this time she asks for permission to change the order from an Order Dialogous to an Order Militant. The reason given is a change in the political climate of the planet and above all in the recent actions of the then ruler. What follows is an account of the business of the convent during a period stretching back to the previous letter. Apparently, the enlargement of the order had been a successful move and most of the daughters of the ruling houses are registered, educated and trained within its walls. The actual number of sisters mentioned is also included in the appendix since I refuse to accept such a large one. If correct, it would almost equal half the strenght of all other orders of the Adeptes Sororitas combined. Surely, it is given in a vain attempt to impress the higher echelons of the Ministorum. Again, the request is granted and the Order of Divine Desire is officially formed. A year later, a third and final request is sent from Axara. This time it is a request for a massive armament of the forces. The strangest thing about this is that although only a single letter exists in the vaults of the Ecclesiarchy, I have found no less that four such requests entered in the archives of the Departmento Munitorum. What this means I cannot speculate about. Did the order fear that the message would not reach Terra and therefore sent several individual copies, has there been a clerical error of gross proportions? Whatever the background, the request was given a standard denial and the matter was considered acted upon. A month later, Lady Eleonora personally resurfaces on Holy Terra after being invisible for almost a decade and appears in the Chamber of Appeal and, in what can only be described as an unprecedented miracle, manages not only to turn the vote into supporting the Order, but also organize an entire Munitorum convoy with arms, armour, troop transports and heavy weapons assembled in such a short time that one wonders if Lord Solar himself was present. Again, there are four different conformation entries in the database of the Deparmento, one for each request. If this means that there were actually four convoys, rather than the one, it is a matter of such gravity I dare not even think about it. Should it be so, it would suggest that resources of such enormous proportions have been forwarded that it will surely strain all other offensive capabilities in the Ultima Segmentum for an unforeseeable future. And further, it would give that the strongest known (or rather unknown) military force of the sector is withheld from any Imperial decree.

In 754996.M41 a letter of resignation is received and entered in the archives of the Imperial navy. Captain Korad, previously acting commander of the “White Hart” an obsolete Njord-class light cruiser with a detachment of two frigates, the only permanent force of any actual consequence in the Cestarian system, have surrendered control of both his ship and the naval base on the moon Feoke Secundus to the Order of Divine Desire in an attempt to make sure that the vessels does not fall into the hands of the traitorous Lord Unsomi of Araxa. It is still debated wether or not Korad was aware of this historical breech of the Decree Passive. The naval department in charge of the event, and Admiral Nakao in particular, are the ones responsible of bringing this whole affair to the light when they, as the first official body of representatives, asked the Departmento Geographica where they are meant to send the Naval Commisar for summary execution of Captain Korad since the Navy has: “no records or charts showing the location or existence of a planet called Araxa” (sic)! And now, for the first time there is an interest from within the Administratum to actively look into the actual state of Axara and the Cestarian system.

The inquiries that follow are more or less fruitless until the search is widened to include non-Imperial sources. After eight months, two cases are brought before the Departmento Geographica. One is from a Tau merchant and the second is from an Eldar free trader. These accounts, incredible as it may sound, gives similar facts as the ones give by Canoness Brigitte concerning the status of Axara. More importantly, they each, independently of each other, give the same coordinates for the planet itself! The reports in their full and original versions can be found in appendix C.

The decision to send an Imperial representative to establish control and sovereignty over Axara was taken in 14997.M41. An appointed planetary governor and a tithe estimation unit was dispatched from Cytheria. Whatever happened to that expedition is unknown since it was never heard of again. The next expedition was launched in 152997.M41 and manages to send a message that it was experiencing unusual warp anomalies as it was entering the fringes of the system, and that positioning broadcast was the its last known whereabouts. The ship is presumed lost. Due to the evidence of navigational difficulties, the third attempt of reaching the planet underwent far more rigorous preparations. Not only was the entire Administratum housed aboard the Naval cruiser “Spear of Faith”, that was refitted with a new navigation system and two extra astropaths, but also a company of Mordian Iron Guard was furthermore attached for security reasons and to aid the new governor should any unanticipated events occur. To add to this, it was decided that they should not head straight towards Axara, but rather use the still active warp beacon transmitting from the port at Feoke Sekundus. The “Spear of Faith” was also successful in reaching the Naval base, with only some minor warp disturbances. When they arrived they found that the base had become a free port. A haven for smugglers and pirates is another way of putting it. The cruiser destroyed or crippled five minor vessels as the rodents tried to scurry away from their righteous fury. After a short orbital bombardment, one of the companies established a beachhead unopposed. The few humans, Eldar and Tau who where unable to flee surrendered soon after. Once the base was secured, contact was established with the planet Pavonis and reports started coming back to the Administratum. The reports from the recapturing and following court proceedings and executions are included in appendix D. To maintain the control of the vital beacon and long range communication arrays, the main force of the 32nd company was ordered to remain on Secundus while the “Spear” refuelled and headed towards Axara itself. From this point, we can only speculate about what actually occurred.

In the early morning of 334997.M41, the day for the celebrations of S.t Hacatus (hence the reason why the event is more known as the Hacatus incident), the local headquarters of the Adeptus Astra Telepathica on Pavonis received a message from the “Spear”. They were in orbit above Axara and were beginning a full sensor sweep of the planet. Half an hour later, another of the serving Astropaths received another message, saying that the “Spear” was now leaving Feoke Secundus. At first, there was no reason for alarm but as more and more transmissions came through it became obvious that there was a time distortion of a grand magnitude from the Cestarian system. After three hours, it became impossible to separate the ending of one transmission and the beginning of another. Although some scholars have made some personal attempts of reconstructing the chain of events, there is not yet any official chronological version of it. I have included some of the more common theories in draft form in D2. What can be salvaged is that the expedition had arrived, they were attempting landfall with the Mordian detachment as an advance force, and that there is something unexplainable about the planet.

Exactly four hours after the first message came through the incident occured. At first, all the present Astropaths became silent, then they uniformly started talking in a strange language, it is to this day unknown what was said or what dialect was spoken – for further studies into this field I strongly recommend the work of Hepas Jovs. The speeches grew into a chant that grew into screams. Then everything went quiet. About two and a half minute after the silence began, a massive warp backlash hit the Telepathica office. Of the 16 Astropaths, 12 were instantly killed and the remaining four suffered unrepairable brain damage. Of the attending personal, two died, three suffered serious damage and the four furthest from the central chamber went into catatonic chock. The wave of warp energy is recorded to have reached as far as Octavia before ebbing out. A strange coincidence is that the four surviving Telepathica attendants are all mentioned again as they and many more are sentenced to death in the aftermath of the trials concerning the Sarosa scandals. When the Telepathica became operational again after a week of frantic reorganisation, nothing was heard from either the “Spear of Faith” or the 32nd company on Secundus. The beacon had also stopped transmitting.

This all leads up to the present day. As your grace already are aware of, Admiral Nakao has been given personal command over a large part of the Imperial navy of the Ultima segmentum fleet and the armada is currently being fuelled and armed. To recapture the lost colours of the presumed lost companies, the 12th infantry and 6th armoured regiment of the Mordian Iron guard is assembling and boarding the fleet. What may seem a bit unorthodox is the fact that to secure the safe arrival, the rank of special advisor, and in effect second in command of the whole enterprise, has been given to the only known person within the Imperium to have been to Axara and returned, the Lady High Inquisitor Eleonora von Erberg. But I can only assume that your grace and the Ordo Hereticus is fully aware of that.

In conclusion, I can only hope that this inadequate work will not completely fail to be of any use to your grace. I have done my best to answer the questions and specifications that your request included. But as I may have stated earlier, most of the records and archives concerning any and all of theses places and happenings have been locked, classified or placed under such a security clearance that I have not been able to do my best work. Most of the sources are three or four times removed. In fact, the last two data search attempts of gathering information concerning Lady Eleonora's retinue, which from the pix casts appears to consist of five women, have been aborted by order of the Officio Assassinorum.

My prayers goes to our Holy Emperor, to you my Grace Baracha and to the task in which these unworthy pages may play an ever so minor part.

Forever in your debt: Scholar Sindran Sanastra

My Lord, as you requested I had a report made about our little sister and her friends. Although some previously unknown information has been given us, we can only hope that others have had more luck in their particular fields. At least there are some areas where the scholar, henceforth referred to as penal trooper 84M443K83-H (And can I make a point that we conduct the next literary purge more thorough so that all references to the Onderian calender is permanently and completely deleted) made some breakthroughs that are worth following up on.

I await further instructions. O.H. – J.B.
