Rules of Engagement - RoE

Inlägg av Blom »

Här kommer reglerna för Rules of Engagement!

Introduction
This document is unofficial and in no way endorsed by Games Workshop Limited. Since the scenario generation system for Warhammer 40 000, Rules of Engagement, was published in White Dwarf our gaming club, NROK, has adapted it to our way of playing and arranging tournaments. The rules in this document should therefore be considered NROK house rules.

We would like to thank the creators of the original RoE, Ryan Powell, Kurt Periolat and Chris Hutchings for an excellent contribution to the game and for bringing Warhammer 40k Rules of Engagement to us in the first place.

Before you play RoE be sure to read this document thoroughly.

This Document is intended as a base for RoE tournaments. The Document must be edited to fit the tournament, based on the number of Games, the Game Descriptions and which Objecties to use.

Set-up Sequence
1. Check your opponents army list (open lists are used)
2. Check the terrain. Decide which rules apply to each piece of 3. terrain together with your opponent.

5. The first player chooses deployment zone
6. Deploy objective markers.
7. Deploy armies, as described in the Rule Book.

Objective Markers

Each player has two objective markers to place; the objective markers should be round scenic bases, matching your army. When determining distances to or from an objective marker always measure from the centre of the marker.

Deploying Objective markers
The player who chose deployment zone goes first placing an objective marker within his own deployment zone. The opponent then places his first marker in his deployment zone. No objective marker may be placed within 6” of a table edge. The player who went first now places his second marker in the area between the deployment zones, referred to as “no mans land”. This marker must be placed more than 12” from the own deployment zone and may not be placed within 12” of another marker. The second player now places his second marker using the same restrictions. When all four markers have been placed the players take turns scattering the objective markers. The marker scatters 1 D6” in the direction indicated by the scatter die, in case of a “hit” the marker remains where it was placed. The new location applies regardless of the restrictions mentioned above.

Controlling and contesting objective markers
All actions towards an objective marker must be carried out by a scoring unit, if not stated otherwise in the objective description. For the definition of a scoring unit see page 90 in the Rule Book. To control an objective marker you must have a scoring unit within 3” of the centre of the objective marker. One scoring unit may control two markers. If both players have scoring units, or other units allowed to contest, within the distance then the objective marker is contested. Models may be placed on an objective marker. Objective markers do not block line of sight, or confer a saving throw of any kind. Units controlling an objective marker may be counted when determining if you have enough scoring units within a specified area.

Units engaged or locked in close combat do not count as scoring for the purposes of controlling objective markers in primary objectives.

To contest an objective you need at least the same number of units within 3" of the centre of the objective.

Picking up objective markers
A player may only pick up an objective marker if the description of the objective he plays says he should, this also allows his opponent to pick up objective markers.

To pick up an objective marker you must move a scoring unit into base contact with the marker during your movement phase, you may then run. If a model is in base contact with an objective at the start of it´s movement it may pick it up and move as normal. The next time the unit moves the marker moves with the model that picked it up, and must remain in base contact with that model. If that model is destroyed, or falls back, the marker remains in play, at its new location. You may move the marker within the unit, but only to a model within 2” of the model carrying the objective marker, and only once per game turn. The marker does not count towards the vehicles passenger capacity. If the vehicle transporting the model carrying the marker suffers a destroyed-explodes the objective marker is removed from play. A model carrying an objective marker may choose to drop it, but not while in a vehicle with transport capability.

Objectives

About objectives

In a tournament a player receives as many primary and secondary objective descriptions as games being played. All objectives must be played during the tournament and the same participant may not play the same objective twice. Each player decides in which order to play the different objectives. Each participant plays a primary objective and a secondary objective in every game.

Primary objectives
In primary objectives the objective markers are a central part of the game. Below follows names and descriptions of the primary objectives:

-You must also control any one of the enemies’ objective markers.

Blood Vengance
-You must bring BOTH of your objective markers to the enemys deployment zone & control them at the end of the game.

Bring ’em Back
--To succeed with this objective you must pick up both objective markers placed in no mans land at the start of the game, and bring them back to your own deployment zone. At the end of the game the objective markers must be within your own deployment zone and controlled by a scoring unit. The normal rules for controlling objective markers apply.

Foothold

Unconvetntional Warfare
-- Give the markers a number 1-4 Roll two dice to determine which two objectives you are to control. For each 6 you choose a marker on the table to control, and if you roll a 5 your opponent chooses a marker you are to control. If you roll a double 1-4 re-roll one die until you have determined two markers to control

Secondary objectives

These objectives are in addition to the primary objectives. Secondary objectives cannot be contested. All units except dedicated transports counts as scoring in secondary objectives. If a unit is falling back or is pinned it does not count as scoring.

Note: Some secondary objectives state that you are to interact with “no mans land”. In the case of there not being a “no mans land” you automatically loose the secondary objective.

Below follows names and descriptions of the secondary objectives:

Är RoE så välskrivet att ingen har någon fundering/regel fråga?

Eller är folk helt enkelt inte intresserade av detta blomcon?

Tror att frågorna ev. dyker upp efter det att man kunnat börja anmäla sig.
